About this Activity
"a ha!" Moments have been designed to inspire students to cultivate what we call an Amazing Hospitality Attitude. They are short motivational videos that further enhances each soft skill allowing them to see the difference they can make by implementing what they have learned in this course. They are a favorite with our AHA World Campus students.
The Power of One
The Lesson

This world is vast—filled with countless people, cultures, and perspectives. It’s easy to wonder, How can one person like me possibly make a difference? The answer begins with inner leadership—the ability to guide yourself with clarity, integrity, and purpose. True leadership starts within, but it grows when we recognize and value the diversity around us.

You don’t have to do everything. But you do have to do something. Today. When you choose to lead yourself—by showing respect, listening to voices different from your own, and contributing your unique perspective—you begin to shape a more inclusive community. Harnessing your inner leadership and embracing diversity is powerful. It reminds us that while we are each only “one,” together we create a chorus of voices, experiences, and ideas that make real change possible.

What is one small, intentional action you can take this week to lead yourself—whether it’s through discipline, kindness, or courage—and how might it influence others around you?

How has listening to or learning from someone with a different background or perspective challenged or expanded your own thinking, and how can you use that awareness to grow as a leader?

In what ways can you take responsibility for making your classroom, workplace, or campus community more inclusive, even if it’s just “one thing at a time”?
