Leadership is demonstrated through action, not just words. This week, challenge yourself to practice an anonymous act of kindness—without telling anyone, including the person receiving it. It could be as simple as sending an encouraging email or handwritten note, or as thoughtful as paying for the person behind you in a coffee line. Afterward, make sure to take time to reflect on your experience.

Choose one question below and answer using examples from personal experiences or from your studies.

  1. In what ways can quiet, behind-the-scenes leadership be just as powerful as visible leadership?
  2. How might practicing anonymous acts of kindness build trust, respect, or influence over time in a workplace?
  3. If recognition is often tied to motivation, how can leaders stay motivated when their contributions aren’t acknowledged publicly?
